Back from holiday

Hey gang! I’m back from my two week holiday. Mid-way through, that pesky hurricane in Baja California re-routed me to San Diego. I also took my first trip to Tijuana. My gratitude for this magnificent country of opportunity has been reignited. I was also reminded that happiness is NOT determined by what we have. Happiness is an inner state and relative to our culture. There are people in Mexico in absolute poverty but many are happier than most people I see on the streets of Los Angeles.

I was reminded of the great king in Ecclesiastes 4:4. “And I saw that all labor and all achievement spring from man’s envy of his neighbor. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.” Man’s happiness comes from enjoying ones labors, from inside of them, from the Light, not from what they posses. Meaning comes from our purpose, not our stuff. From that place, one can enjoy what they create.

Here’s a shot of me with an Orca at Sea World. When i was little I did a report on Orcas and fell in love. It’s so wonderful to remember our childhood loves and experience them again. Maybe this will give you an idea? What are some things you loved as a child? Take yourself on a date to experience some this week.
