Spiritual teachers have for centuries commented on the problem with prosperity: It leads to an overactive mind of attachment. With abundance comes entitlement. Nothing is ever good enough for the mind. Its conditioned complaining nature obscures the abundance and turns it into suffering. Whether poor, average, or wealthy, we see entitlement thinking, unhappiness unless we get more, at every level.
Here’s an awesomely funny comedian’s rant on this problem with entitlement thinking. Even though we live in the most amazing time in history, people want to focus on the worst. The old saying is so true: “Comedy is the smuggler of truth.”
